Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP on the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped more music via the Internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she sang together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was also released on September 5th. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube in one week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
